Kalashnikov Vodka plc, founded by General Kalashnikov in 2003, a National Hero of Russia and inventor of the AK47, to extend the world recognised brands of 'Kalashnikov' and 'AK47' into the alcoholic beverasge market. The company has developed two key vodka brands; Kalashnikov Vodka and AK47 Vodka which are being sold into Europe, Australasia and the USA markets.

The global vodka market accounts for 388 million cases annually, comprising 25% of all spirit consumption. The growth in the market is driven by the Premium sector, which is dominated by the USA's 44 million case annual consumption and growth of circa 20% year-on-year over the last 5 years.
